Policies and tuition

Studio Policies and procedures

This is an agreement between the instructor and student family for the professional teaching service provided by Songbirds.

ATTENDANCE

Students are expected to continue lessons for a full semester.  Students are to arrive in a timely manner, with all required materials and music.

  • Fall Semester is September-December.

  • Spring Semester is January- May.

  • Summer Semester is June- August.

Time changes are difficult to accommodate, therefore, please consider your commitments prior to registering for private music lessons.  If a permanent time change must occur, please submit your request via email, and the studio will attempt to accommodate.

As this is your lesson, the time slot and day are reserved for you.  Therefore, we have a zero cancellation policy, with the exception of illness, accident or injury.

  • 1 absence/semester is allotted due to illness, accident, or family emergency or other.

  •  Absolutely no refunds.

  • Absolutely no one-time time changes.

TEACHER ABSENCES

The teacher reserves the right to miss lessons due to illness, and will be made up within the semester either in person or virtually.

Professional commitments are outlined on the website under performance schedule.

LESSON TERMINATION

Students mav be asked to discontinue lessons at the end of a semester if they have an excessive amount of absences or unprepared lessons, and will be at the discretion of the teacher.

Lessons may also be terminated for unpaid tuition.

Mid-semester cancellations are strictly discouraged. If extenuating circumstances, a one month (30 day) cancellation notice must be given.  In the event that it isn’t, a $45 fee, plus full month tuition will be billed to the student.
